Sir Arthur Beverley Baxter (1891 – 1964) was a journalist and politician, born in Toronto. After the First World War, he moved to London, where he worked as a journalist and served as a Conservative MP.  

In 1942 Baxter became the theatre critic for the London Evening Standard, a post which he held until 1951.
