Penguin Parade was an ambitious project, aimed at showcasing new stories and poetry. The first issue was released in November 1937, with new books appearing every few months until the end of the Second World. It was edited by Denys Kilham Roberts (1903-1976).
Penguin Parade 4 contains 15 stories, as well as poems and illustrations. The stories include: River in Venezuela by American short story writer, William Maxwell (1908 – 2000); The Red Flag by crime-writer George Bellairs (1902-1982) and The Drunk and the Blind by Gerald Kersh (1912–1968).
