The Birth of Romance in England brings together four Twelfth-century Romances, originally written in Anglo-Norman.
Romance of Horn is an adventure story written around 1170 by an author named ‘Thomas’.
Folie Tristan is a poem in 998 octosyllabic lines which retells an episode from the Tristan legend in which Tristan disguises himself as a madman to win his way back to Ysolt (Isolde).
The Lai of Haveloc may be based on the historical Amlaíb Cuarán, a 10th-century Norse-Gaelic ruler.
Amis and Amilun tells the story of two friends, one of whom is punished by God with leprosy for engaging in a trial by ordeal after the other has been seduced and betrayed.
