In recent years, African painting has been arousing a strong response from both critics and the public, as demonstrated by the exhibition "Why Africa" organized at the Agnelli Foundation in Turin from 6 October 2007 to 3 February 2008, curated by Mr. Andrè Magnin and the event "Africa 05" which was promoted by the British Museum and the Arts Council England, with contemporary African painting and performances, which took place over the course of 2005 in all the museums and galleries of London.
