There Is No Armour is a family saga, set in Manchester, Cornwall and London.

Spanning the years 1899 to 1946, it follows the life of Edward Pentecost, a successful artist, and his family.

Howard Spring (1889 – 1965) was a Welsh author and journalist whose most successful novel was Fame Is the Spur (1940). Born in Cardiff, he was forced to leave school at the age of twelve, when his father died, to start work as an errand boy.

By taking evening classes, and spending his leisure time learning shorthand, Spring eventually got a job as a reporter, and in time became a best-selling author, writing novels for both children and adults.

Published by The Reprint Society in 1950.

Book is in good condition with dust jacket and the binding is intact.
